smarteyes! accepts payments from private insurance plans as well as BC's Medical Service Plan to help our patient's cover as much of their eye exam and glasses as possible. We can direct-bill most private insurances right in our office, saving you time and money!

Private Insurance

These plans often come from an employer or an insurance plan that is paid into privately. Coverage varies from partial to full exam coverage, as well as an allowance towards glasses or contacts.

Medical Service Plan

This is coverage for all BC residents under 19 or over 65, that pays a portion of the eye exam, or if an eligible condition is present. Common conditions that meet this criteria are diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma, but many more exist and will be determined and applied by your doctor.
